Good lakes for bass, and other freshwater fish in Fl?

I live in dunedin, fl and would like to find a lake to fish in that has a nice selection of freshwater fish, including bass. I heard that there was this place on MLK or something like that, where they stock the lake with loads of bass, and it is only catch and release? Is lake Tarpon any good? And keep in mind I don't have a boat. And one more thing, what color of lure makes the best presentation to the freshwater fish? As you can probably tell, I am almost all saltwater fishing ;)

Toho in Kissimmee is a little far for me. I am looking for something close to Tarpon Springs, Dunedin, or Clearwater.
