I have a Tracker bass boat with a 90hp mercury outboard motor. The motor will start good when first put in the water and idle good when I put it in gear. But about five minutes after that before I even get out of the no wake zone it quits. It will start back if I open the throttle up but dies before i get it back to neutral. I took it home and hooked the bunny ears to it and the motor seems to be backfiring. I replaced the plugs and still does the same thing. Any suggestions would be great....thanks

i have an 88 gemini bass boat and it has a 48 johnson on it. and what happens is i go to start it and it will fire up but then it will just die off real quick. i had it out a couple of weeks ago and i i gave it throttle and when the boat leveled out the engine just cut out. i was able to get it started but every time i gave it some throttle it would die out. and now it just wont stay started at all. does it have something to do with my gas because it is from last year and it still has the stabalizer crap in it or what?
